Kava ceremony @ 'Ultimate Girls week away | retreat Photography

Every retreat has an amazing ceremony which shares the culture and local traditions of the retreat location. It’s always such a treat to photograph as the ceremony always has such a special story to share. The Kava ceremony on retreat at ‘Ultimate Girls Week Away’, Fiji was so interesting and had everyone captivated.

The ceremony starts with the production of the Kava which involves pounding the pulp then mixing with water. It looks a lot like coffee or tea when ready but believe me it doesn't taste quite the same. Lots of funny photo opportunities there!

It's always interesting to watch a traditional ceremony taking place and as always on retreat there were lots of smiles and laughter. These photos will bring back some really special memories for attendees that’s for sure. Thank you to Plantation Island Resort for making this ceremony possible.
